WHAT: Building a Voron 2.0 3D printer with StealthBurner printhead (300 mm x 300 mm bed size)
WHY: 1) to gain a fundamental understanding of the inner workings of 3D printers in the most cohesive way-- by building one from scratch; and 2) to increase the additive manufacturing output of the Digital Fabrication Lab by 33% so that more may utilize the flexibility that 3D printing offers.
HOW: Constructing from a combination of purchased parts and 3D printed components. Using multiple printers to create a self-sustaining manufacturing environment.
Skills developed:
Additive Manufacturing, Assembly, Wiring & Soldering
Components include: Z-axis carriages, idlers, motorized belt assembly
Components include: orbiter, extruder, hot end
